Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium

Odin Teatret – Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium was founded in 1964 in Oslo, Norway, by Eugenio Barba from Italy and a group of young Norwegian actors. In 1966 the theatre was invited to settle down in Holstebro by the mayor of Holstebro. The activities of Odin Teatret – Nordisk Teaterlaboratoriums are rather comprehensive. Besides international recognised performances, ISTA (International School of Theatre Anthropology), “barters”, residential hosts for theatre groups, publishing of books, film production, festivals and much else, the theatre is the coordinator of Holstebro Festuge. The first version of Holstebro Festuge was in 1989 on initiative of Odin Teatret – Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium with the title “Those we received”. The Wild West – Roots and Shoots are the tenth Festuge.
