The Black Pearls
The Friesian horse is one of the oldest horse breeds in the world and is known for its majestic appearance, the beautiful black coat, the thick mane and tail and the flashy movements. Hence, they got the nickname the black pearls. They are often considered as adventurous and enchanting, and are popular in movies, shows and in circus. The breed is originally originated from Holland and in 1954 the Dutch queen Juliana allowed the breed to be called royal. During Holstebro Festuge you can find the royal horses in different contexts represented by Danish equipages from all over the country.
